Slightly off topic ...
Actually there's quite a few Mancunians, Northerners and Irish here in Wellington, it's not all that unusual to spot the accent. I wouldn't be all that surprised to meet another Oggs old boy. I have worked with one guy who used to live in Hall Lane, and others from Keighley (Yorks), Cheadle Hulme, Newton-le-Willows, and Liverpool.
(also from Berlin, Manilla, Sydney, Bombay, Singapore .....)

It's actually very multicultural in NZ, and we haven't got the ghetto mentality quite yet, so it works well. Of course it's not all golden, there are problems with gangs, drugs (Cannabis grows wild in some parts of NZ !), Maori separatists etc. , and NZ seems determined to follow some of UK's greatest mistakes...

Many of the Londoners/Southerners seem to go to Auckland for some reason. Perhaps it's the weather...
