It's a tricky one is this. I think, like a lot of people, I don't know what to believe. Is there a popular uprising in Basra? Are there weapons of mass destruction doing the the rounds in Baghdad? Who bombed the Bagdahd marketplace? Both the US and Iraq are engaged in a war of spin and neither side can be trusted.
Although I agree(ish) with the reasons for the war, I did find mysyelf watching the the bombing of Bagdhad last week and thinking: "Christ we sanctioned this."
Prior to the first attack, I was fairly anti-war. Now I find it fairly unpleasant that I actually look forward to the bombing, as the rest of the coverage is so dull.
It is similar to the effect of of Bret Easton Ellis's American Pyscho - most of it it is so humdrum that you you look forward to the violence
