Also, having been away from Manc (and the UK) for 20 years the closest I get to the accent is Corrie - but that just depresses me - people aren't that stupid in Manchester are they? - and the occasional show like Cracker etc., but that's not the accent I remember.

Also when did terms like "gobsmacked" begin? I don't remember that from my childhood in Wyvvy.

Is it true - has the vocabulary changed?

I watched Sexy Beast recently - no-one seems to say twat anymore!
