Typical jaundiced and jealous views of a sad Blue...

Munich was a tragedy and although I agree it raised the profile of MUFC it has not in any material way contributed to the success of the club since 1958. Lest Blue Boy in Oz forgets, the majority of those who died at Munich was home grown talent. Likewise the majority of those who were responsible for the success of the club in the 90's were also home grown talent. So much for success being down to financial strength.

If it was spending money that guaranteed success City would have been a top club throughout the 70's and 80's with such amazing buys like Steve Daly, Kevin Reeves, Rodney Marsh, Mick Channon, Trevor Francis.....the list goes on and on.

As for a manager with no scruples....give it a rest. Ferguson has been the most successful manager by almost any measure you care to mention in English football history. And at a time when players have had more power then ever before, being able to switch clubs at a whim.

Roy Keane - yes no angel but Roy Keane or Alfie Inge Haarland mmmmm....who would I want in my team? Gosh now that is a difficult one.

Eric Cantona.....without doubt the most influential player ever to grace the Premiership. Still a God at Old Trafford and the real star of the Nike advert.

David Beckham....got Engalnd into the game against Argentina (remember the free kick in the previous game) and laid on the pass for Owen's 'wonder' goal.

Talking of free kicks, was it not Becks who got us in to the World Cup this time with that strike in the last minute against the Greeks?? Also it was his decoy dive early in the move leading up to the penalty that fooled the Brazilian defence.

Who took the penalty and once agian fooled the goalkeeper to dive and slotted it where he had been stood???? Yes you guessed it David Beckham.

One thing you are right about I am abhorred about the 30 million we spent on whats his name. Give 30 million to those white rose t***s at Leeds!!!! Still if Rio can be 30 times better than the last player we bought from them (a certain Eric) then it will be money well spent.

As for going to the games......anyone got a spare ticket??????

P.S. Thanks for the video clip on Denis. A stark reminder what can happen to you if you let a good player go. City would do well to remember that (Ryan Giggs!!!) God knows what Denis Law would be worth these days.
